Paleolithic Diet


This is the diet that hunter and gatherer humans of the pre-historic era followed, which is high in meat, vegetables and fruit, but excludes grain products and dairy. More research is needed before we can definitively make conclusions about its benefits, but preliminary results are promising. If you plan to follow this diet, you should be aware of fibre, calcium, vitamin D, and B vitamin needs, as grains and dairy are the major source for these vital nutrients. It is worthwhile to have your diet assessed by a registered dietitian to ensure you are meeting your nutrition needs.
